Fever Tour 2002

The Fever tour, a huge scale 49 shows two hour extravaganza , a true memorable milestone in Kylie Minogue sensational career is coming to Europe and Australia . Seven theme stages with a theatrical variety of magnificent nine costumes changes created by designers Dolce and Gabbana blend with the electrifying superb choreography of Rafael Bonachela's Ballet Rambert to create the ultimate Kylie grand spectacular and most ambitious live tour to date.

The show includes Kylie's best known songs and greatest hits featuring her most successful single ever, "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" with further hits "Come Into My World" and "Love At First Sight", spanning magically through a timeline review trip into Kylie’s musical progress. In Europe is sponsored by Ford Street Ka ,"Street Ka and Kylie have a lot in common - they are both small, beautiful and stylish." .

The Fever Tour takes off in Cardiff in the UK on April 26, and ends in Italy, Milan at the Fila Forum on June the 18, Barcelona venue was unfortunately cancelled.
Kylie takes the concert to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland , Germany and Holland, and then on to Australia in August where she has sold out six nights at Sydney’s Entertainment Centre and a further six nights at the Rod Laver Arena in home town Melbourne.

The brains behind the Tour : William Baker, Kylie's closest friend and creative director , designer Fi Doran, tour designer Alan MacDonald, “Kyborg” builder

Johnny Rocket, choreographer Rafael Bonachela, production manager Steve Martin, lighting designer Vince Foster, band musical director Andrew Small, and hair and makeup artist Caroline Barnes.

Fever Tour Facts : Fever 2002 cost four million pounds to stage and saw Kylie break records across the world. In the UK she played four sold out nights at the Wembley Arena, many more could have been sold..
In Manchester she broke the record for the most dates played by a solo artist at the Arena, performing to over 85,000 people.Tickets to the 25 date tour sold out within minutes of going on sale , the Manchester Evening News presented Kylie with a plaque in recognition of having the most number of shows by a solo artist ever to sell out the Arena.
In Newcastle, it was announced that Kylie’s show had been the quickest to sell out in the history of the venue. In total, Kylie played to appromimately 260.000 people in the UK. alone.

One reason that surfaced for not including the USA in the tour , was that Kylie usually performed at large venues and in the Usa it was accepted that Kylie , 'fairly new' to the American scene was not going to generate enough ticket sales to warrant big venues .
Madame Tussaud's has a Kylie model exhibit as a waxworks model which is the third version of Kylie that the London tourist attraction has created. This latest one is based on a stage routine from Kylie's Fever tour, the model breathes suggestively and whispers as visitors get closer.
The Fever show has been described by the UK's News of the World as "One of the best performances by virtually any pop star in the last ten years" and the Daily Telegraph said "Kylie, the self-proclaimed Princess of Pop to Madonna's Queen, has taken the throne!"

'Kylie's eighth studio album "Fever" has been hailed by critics and diehard fans alike as a major success. As with her previous album "Light Years", "Fever" debuted in the Australian ARIA Albums chart at #1 and has since gone on to sell over five times platinum, cementing Kylie's position as the greatest Australian pop export ever. '

On the DVD: Kylie Fever 2002 - Live In Manchester

Kylie Fever's special feature on the stage projections is a little dull out of context but hypnotic nonetheless: it's ideal for playing on a loop at a party!  The digital programme presents the story behind each look and chapter of the concert and the documentary doesn't just focus on the lady herself, but diverts to look at the logistics and problems in creating such a visually stunning show.
As you would expect from such a mixed-media production, the sound and visuals are pristine. -- Nikki Disney
